This is a mixed sex game played by over 18's and all levels are welcome - including complete beginners. People new to the game even get their first week free! Indoor Softball is a game that has evolved from Slowpitch Softball, the outdoor game that we play over the summer. We basically play to the Slowpitch rules with a few variations , such as minus points if you are out and playing off the walls. The game is played by two teams, the Batters and the Fielders and is played in a room set up with four bases. The Pitcher pitches the ball to the Batter and the Batter attempts to hit the ball and run around as many bases as possible before the ball is brought under the control of the Fielders. If you can get around all four bases then you get a home run. Equipment is provided for anyone who does not have their own Bat or Glove and for beginners there are plenty of people around who are always willing to offer to help you get to grips with the game. Download an easy to follow guide to indoor softball Here. We play on Sunday afternoons at the Dome on Platt Lane in Fallowfield (Venue), from 3pm til 5pm (please arrive for 2.45pm to register). The 2010-2011 season will start on 17 October. If you are interested in giving softball a try between now and then please check out the information on our forum regarding beginner/rookie training sessions or contact our recruitment officer via the contact us page for information on joining a team. |
